What is Timezone Converter?

The Timezone Converter helps you convert times between different world timezones. Essential for scheduling international meetings, coordinating with remote teams, planning travel, or keeping track of events in different time zones.

How to Use

  1. Select your source timezone and enter the date/time
  2. Add target timezones using the Add button
  3. View converted times for all added timezones
  4. Remove unwanted timezones with the X button

Practical Tips

  • Add up to 5 target timezones for comparison
  • Day change indicators show +1 or -1 day differences
  • Timezones are grouped by region for easy selection

Accuracy & Limitations

This converter uses fixed UTC offsets and does not automatically adjust for daylight saving time changes. For DST-accurate conversions, verify current offset rules for each timezone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tool handle Daylight Saving Time automatically?

No, this tool uses fixed UTC offsets for simplicity and reliability. DST rules vary by country and change over time. During DST periods, manually adjust by 1 hour, or verify the current offset for your specific timezone.

What does the '+1 day' or '-1 day' indicator mean?

When a time conversion crosses midnight, the day changes. For example, converting 10 PM in New York to Tokyo (14 hours ahead) gives 12 PM the next day, shown as '+1 day'. This helps you understand when the day changes across timezones.

Why can I only add 5 target timezones?

We limit to 5 timezones to keep the interface clean and usable. For most scheduling needs, comparing 5 timezones is sufficient. You can remove a timezone and add a different one if needed.

What's the difference between GMT and UTC?

GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) are effectively the same for practical purposes - both represent the time at 0° longitude. UTC is the modern standard used by computers and aviation, while GMT is the traditional term often used in everyday contexts.

Why isn't my city's timezone listed?

We include the most commonly used standard timezones by region. Many cities share timezones - for example, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Perth all use UTC+8. Find a timezone with the same UTC offset as your location.
